Photography and Truth

In the photo of the Ivory stockpiles , it looks to be true with or without the caption. You can tell there is a leader because of the way he is dressed and the people in the background are all faced away from the burning of the tusks as though they don’t care and looks “normal” to them. As the viewer,I knew that elephant tusks are also worth millions, showing the factual truth.

In the photo of Baby cry somo, it seems to be easy to believe because the somo baby’s are crying. But is this really true? The somo men holding up the baby’s are smiling and laughing. Is this torture to the children, or a so called “contest”. What are they competing for with cries? As the viewer of this photo it worries me, and doesn’t seem to be true with its caption.
